Alongside being the Artistic Director of NND/Galili Dance (1997–2008) and the co-founder and Artistic Director of Dansgroep Amsterdam (2009-2010), choreographer Itzik Galili has worked with numerous renowned dance companies and built a portfolio of pioneering diversity creating over 70 works for companies, including:
Stuttgart Ballet, Ballets de Monte Carlo, Bayerisches Staatsballett Munich, Gulbenkian Ballet, Royal Winnipeg Ballet, National Dance Company Wales, Batsheva Dance Company, Nederlands Dans Theater 2, Scapino Ballet, Bale da Cidade de São Paulo, Dutch National Ballet, Finnish National Ballet, Les Grands Ballets Canadiens and Ballet British Columbia.
Lighting plays an integral role in his work and his interest in this medium led him to design the lighting for most of his works until he met the scenographer and lighting designer, Yaron Abulafia, in 2005 with whom he has built a unique collaboration.
On April 2006, Itzik Galili was made a Knight of the Royal Order of The House of Oranje Nassau by Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands for his contribution to Dutch dance.
In 2009, his work A Linha Curva was nominated for 3 awards in the UK: Knights of Illumination (for Lighting Design), Critics’ Circle (for Best Modern Choreography), Laurence Olivier Award (for Best New Production.
In the season 2011/12 his work can be seen at the Holland Dance Festival and with the following major companies: National Dance Company Wales, Danza Contemporánea de Cuba, Rambert Dance Company, Staatsballet Berlin and English National Ballet.
