What is a Dance Ambassador?

Dance Ambassadors provide a crucial ‘youth voice’ for One Dance UK and Dance Consortium. They get involved in countless dance events across the UK, supporting and speaking at One Dance UK events such as the annual conference and reception at Houses of Parliament. It’s a great way to gain new skills, explore career pathways and connect with aspiring arts professionals from across the UK.

Benefits for the Dance Ambassadors:

  • Connect with top theatres and dance organisations
  • Get a realistic insight into creative jobs by shadowing industry professionals
  • Top up communication and advocacy skills through bite-sized training designed to help champion dance in the UK
  • Access an inclusive programme – travel, accommodation and meals are provided for events.

Future Leaders

Access to Future Leaders days are key part of the Dance Ambassador programme. Future Leaders events are hosted by Dance Consortium’s 19 UK venues. Careers workshops, speed networking with industry staff and mentoring fire curiosity about different job pathways and propel participants to think about their next training or job opportunity. Recent events ran at Birmingham Hippodrome, Bradford Alhambra, Edinburgh Festival Theatre and Theatre Royal and Concert Hall Nottingham to learn about creative careers in producing, marketing, fundraising and learning and practical roles including teaching and performing. This year Dance Ambassadors kicks off with an unmissable visit to The Lowry in Salford on 22/23 October.
