This week we’re bringing you our first Trock blog from the UK! Paolo is here to tell us what he’s been up to sinc the company arrived in London. Also, don’t forget to check out the FABULOUS reviews we’ve had from our London run so far, including this 5 ⋆⋆⋆⋆⋆ review from The Stage where Neil Norman called The Trocks “an international treasure and one of the great wonders of the world”

I was really looking forward for this UK tour with the Trocks; not only to have the chance to perform in some of the best stages here, but also to be able to spend some time with my husband, Carlos Hopuy, and my family. My older brother, Cisco, moved from Italy to England, last year, to work as engineer for ARM Holdings plc, a British multinational semiconductor and software design company, headquartered in Cambridge (I really took this description from Wikipedia!!!).

We arrived in London on September 12th. My brother met us at our hotel as soon as we arrived. I was so happy to see him; he hugged Carlos and me. After dropping our suitcases in the room, we went out for a nice walk in the city. We walked through parks, saw Buckingham Palace and Trafalgar Square and, of course, beautiful Big Ben.

After this nice walk, we decided to go all together to Cambridge. I couldn’t wait to see the apartment my brother bought last year. When we arrived, a mix of happiness and pride filled my heart. We were there, in my big brother ‘s place. In Italy, to buy a house or even just a car for a lot of young people is a far away dream. But he made it, even after all the sacrifices he made for me to be able to go to a ballet school and become who I am today.

The next day we woke up early and went out for a walk in the beautiful university city of Cambridge. The river, the parks and the beautiful and historic buildings, were all really charming. Being able to share that time with my brother and my husband made it a perfect day.

That night Carlos and I went back to London. The next day we had our first show at the Peacock Theatre.

After an incredible and really successful first week of shows, now, we are half way through the second and last week. Today, September 24th, my dad is coming to London, followed by my mum who arrives tomorrow.

I’m extremely excited and I can’t wait to see them. Even though my parents are not together since I was 10 years old, they make the BEST family I could ever dreamed of. I cannot wait for them to see our show on closing night. They are my strength. My dream, and hope, for the future is to be able to build, with Carlos, an even stronger one.
